Operations/Sales Manager
As Operations/Sales Manager at Pioneer Landscapes, Inc. (“PLI”), you will oversee and manage estimates, bids, projects, scheduling and in-the-field site work. We are seeking a professional, high-energy, forward-thinking manager who can strategize, work well independently or with the Team, while bringing PLI to the next level.
Typical Hours:
Monday – Friday; position is exempt and may require evenings and weekends
Additionally, snow and ice management as needed
Job Responsibilities:
Hardscape/Landscape Estimates, including but not limited to: Construction, Residential, Maintenance, Irrigation and Fertilization; lifecycle from receiving the invitation to submitting the proposal in a timely fashion; assessment of landscape and know if a certain project is applicable to a specific area of land
Managing executed contracts, including but not limited to: reviewing plans, determining the time-frame of job from start to finish, scheduling the job, assigning the crew to locations with specific functions, working and supervising at job sites as needed, visiting all job sites and assessing work is on time, done in a workmanlike manner and making sure plans are followed to the directive of the customer
Maintaining estimate costs as close as possible, always notify customer if there is a change in writing
Constantly keeping ahead of the scheduling game, being pro-active, completion of contract tasks
Landscaping: including but not limited to: coordinating crews and gathering list of properties (Commercial and Residential) on a daily basis for clean-up, mowing, mulching, sweeping, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, hydro-seeding, snow removal; and being responsible for staying on schedule as closely as possible
Construction: schedule jobs, equipment and coordinate crews and materials
Ability to operate a variety of landscape equipment safely with no supervision
Maintain at all times a clean and safe work environment while working on projects
Being professional and courteous at all times when speaking with customers and or team; must be able to handle hard conversations with others; return voicemail messages and emails as quickly as possible; estimates and proposals sent within 24 hours or same day when possible, remain in constant contact with the customer
Assisting with employee engagement and retention
Assisting with the hiring of new employees and the termination of current employees as needed
Attending staff meetings, company meetings
Other duties as assigned by the President or Office Manager of PLI
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Operations Manager
Exceptional time management skills
Experience with MS Suite and Service Autopilot platforms a plus (will train the right candidate)
Experience with sales, estimates, bids a plus (will train the right candidate)
Experience managing a Team of 12+ employees, scheduling, assigning tasks
Experience with cold calling/emailing, social media marketing, networking
Must be able to work independently with little or no daily guidance; must have pro-active attitude and professional/friendly personality
This is an exempt position. Compensation is based upon experience and negotiable. Should have a valid driver’s license and 2A, 1C Hoisters, Pesticide Applicators license and OSHA 10 certification. Pioneer Landscapes will assist in obtaining licenses and certification. Should be able to operate snowplow, skid steer-type loader, articulating mini loader, mini excavator equipment. Irrigation Technician
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the design, maintenance and implementation of all components of the irrigation system including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Oversees the repair, preventative maintenance, and records for all equipment associated with irrigation.
- Maintains inventory of parts associated with irrigation systems.
- Reports any irregularities in turf quality.
- Provides all system startups, repairs and winterization.
- Up-sells new upgrades, controllers, heads, etc.
- Performs special projects delegated by management.
- Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location
*When season services finish, employee will join the landscape crew
Landscape Laborer
The positions are for a crew members in our professional landscape maintenance team. Candidate will be expected to be self-motivated, punctual, and have the capability to arrive on time to work every day.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time and ready to work
- Uniform: Must wear Pioneer-issued shirt, and follow other attire guidelines.
- Conduct: Behave professionally at all times, especially while servicing customers.
- Work Efficiency: Ability to learn tasks and perform them efficiently.
- Follow Directions: Ability to follow directions about the services needed by our clients.
- 1C, 2A Hoisting License and OSHA10 a plus
If the candidate has experience driving a truck and trailer, there will be better compensation for having a valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Shovel/Ground Crews/Plowing & Skid Steer Operators
Positions are available for experienced, detailed oriented persons able to effectively utilize snow removal equipment. We are looking for shovel/ground crews as well as Plowing & Skid Steer Operators. Must have a valid drivers’ license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Plowing & Skid Steer Operators must also have a 2A Hoisters License.
You must be:
· Able to work long hours in extreme conditions
· Able to lift more than 80 lbs.
· Available to work on an on-call basis
· Available 24/7 during snowstorms, including holidays
This is a part-time, seasonal position. However, qualified applicants will be considered for full-time seasonal work starting in the Spring.

- Highly organized with great communication skills.
